Over 40 officers get new postings in major bureaucratic rejig

New Delhi, Feb 23 (Agency) In a major bureaucratic rejig, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) on Wednesday approved new postings of over 40 senior officers at joint secretary and additional secretary levels. Apart from elite Indian Administrative Service (IAS), officers of other services such as Indian Forest Service (IFoS), Indian Audit and Accounts Service (IA&AS) and Indian Postal Service (IPoS) have also been given new assignments. As per communication issued by Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), IAS officer Geetha Meetina has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare. Rajbir S. Panwar, IFoS, has been tasked with the responsibility of Managing Director at National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India Ltd (NAFED) under Agriculture Ministry.

The ACC approved appointment of IAS officer Amit Singh Negi as Joint Secretary in the Department of Expenditure for a tenure of five years. Manoj Sahay, an IA&AS officer, has also been moved to the Expenditure Department as Joint Secretary and Financial Adviser. IAS officer Kunal from AGMUT cadre has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Sports replacing IPS officer Atul Singh who has been repatriated prematurely to his parent cadre. Among other officers who have got new postings are Abhijit Narendra, an Indian Railway Traffic Service (IRTS) officer, Anand Singh, lAS officer of Kerala cadre and Richa Misra, an Indian Defence Accounts Service (IDAS) officer.
