Our economy is the world’s fastest growing largest economy

New Delhi, Mar 11 (FN Bureau) India’s economy is the world’s fastest growing largest economy. It has come a long way from fragile five to the top five economies in the world. In the last eight years, India has become the third largest startup ecosystem in the world, said Anurag Singh Thakur, Minister for Youth Affairs & Sports, and Information & Broadcasting. Symbiosis International (Deemed University) hosted a Youth 20 (Y 20) Consultation under the G 20 Presidency of India, supported by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India n 10th & 11th March 2023. At Symbiosis International University’s Campus at Lavale, Pune. Thakur was invited as the Chief Guest and Dr. Sundeep Waslekar, President, Strategic Foresight Group was the Keynote Speaker for the Inaugural Ceremony of Youth 20 (Y 20) Consultation.

Dr. S. B. Mujumdar Founder and President, Symbiosis and Chancellor Symbiosis International (Deemed University) presided over the function. Speaking at the occasion, Minister said, India was considered as a country that asks for help but in the recent years, it has become a country that does help to others. During Covid times, the whole world has experienced the humanity crisis. During that period, the developed countries were not ready to come forward and help others but India helped other nations by providing them vaccines to prevent the spread of virus. In the last five years, India has become the second largest nation in the world for manufacturing mobile phones. Huge amounts of Foreign Investments are made in the country. Path breaking stories of Indian Youth are inspiring the world today. The whole world sees hope in India’s leadership and we all must have to live up to the expectations, Thakur added further. Dr. Sundeep Waslekar, President, Strategic Foresight Group, in his keynote address mentioned that, young people are the future of India and this Youth 20 conference is the conference on the future of India.

Speaking at the conference Dr. Waslekar said, there is one world of hypersonic missiles. Some leaders are perpetuating wars, they are deploying new weapons. This new nuclear war has the capacity to end human civilization within a few hours. Whereas on the other hand there is a world of hope. Out of 193 countries in the world 23 countries have given up their defense. They do not have an Army, Navy, and Air force. They do not have a defense minister either. Out of 193 countries, 123 passed a resolution for the prohibition of Nuclear Weapons. The philosophy of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam”- “The world is One Family” can save us all, Dr. Waslekar added further. Dr. Vidya Yeravdekar, Principal Director, Symbiosis and Pro-Chancellor, Symbiosis International (Deemed University) gave the welcome address. Dr. Rajani Gupte, Vice Chancellor, Symbiosis International (Deemed University) gave the vote of thanks.
