Bhubaneswar, Mar 1 (Agency) In a major decision Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday announced a hike in the remuneration of Gana Sikhyaks and Law officers in the state. The decision, official sources said, would benefit nearly 12,113 Gana Sikhayaks and 1151 Law officers working as Additional Public Prosecutors, Assistant Public Prosecutors, Special Public Prosecutors, Government Pleaders, and Assistant Government Pleaders in various courts in the state.As per the decision, the Gana Sikhyaks who have cleared the Odisha Teachers Eligibility Test( OTET) will be regularized as a Med teachers cadre which would benefit 1472 teachers. On the other hand, the 1121 Gana Sikhyaks who have not cleared the OTET will get a monthly remuneration of Rs.10,000 instead of Rs.7000 paid to them earlier. The state government also decided to pay yearly increments to the Assistant Teachers (Ex Cadres)who have cleared OTET. This will benefit 9520 teachers in the state.
In another decision, the Odisha government on Friday also announced a 50 percent rise in the daily retainer fee of the Non cadre Law officers in the state benefiting 1215 law officers working in various courts in the state. The government also hiked the daily and retainer fee of the Law officer which will benefit 184 Additional Public Prosecutors engaged by the government. As per the decision, the daily fee of these Law officers has been increased from Rs.1250 to Rs.1875 while the retainer fee has been enhanced to Rs.12,300 instead of Rs.8200 presently paid to them. The Assistant Public Prosecutors who were getting Rs.1100 as daily fee will now receive Rs.1650 and a retainer fee of Rs.6000 instead of Rs.4000. About 85 Special Public Prosecutors will also receive a daily fee of Rs.1875 and a retainer fee of Rs.12,300. About 29 Government pleaders and 113 Assistant Government pleaders would also receive the enhanced retainer fee of Rs.12,300, Chief Minister’s Office sources said.
