Ayodhya, Dec 28 (Representative) Spread over 10,000 Square meters, the newly developed Railway Station at Ayodhya is equipped with all modern amenities. Ahead of the Pran Pratishtha of the Ram temple, to be held next month, the railway station has been renamed from ‘Ayodhya Junction’ to ‘Ayodhya Dham’ Junction. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate it along with the newly built airport and other key projects of Ayodhya on December 30, 2023. The fully air-conditioned railway station, besides having all the amenities like waiting rooms, toilets, drinking water, elevators, ramps, medical rooms, etc. will have paintings and murals depicting stories of Rama’s life.
The transformation of the railway station into a modern hub with various amenities of International standards and a touch of cultural and religious significance will add a unique dimension to the infrastructure. The incorporation of paintings and murals depicting stories from Valmiki Ramayana and Ram Charitra Manas of Tulsidas will add a cultural and spiritual touch to the station giving a divine feeling to the devotees. Lakhs of devotees visit Ayodhya every year. During November in the month of Kartik (according to the Hindu calendar), the number of devotees visiting Ayodhya increases tenfold.
During this month, three Parikramas are also held in which clusters of devotees from across the country take part to have a dip in the sacred river Saryu. The newly developed railway station will add comfort to the Yatra. The Indians staying abroad also visit Ayodhya in large numbers. With the development projects in place, the number of devotees from foreign countries will increase mani-fold, especially after the inauguration of the new Ram temple every Hindu is eager to visit Ayodhya.
