Shillong, May 18 (FN Agency) Union Minister of State for Chemicals-Fertilizers and New-Renewable Energy, Bhagwanth Khuba on Thursday said the Northeastern states has more subsidies in schemes like rooftop solar schemes. “In KUSUM rooftop solar scheme we are providing more subsidies to the Northeastern States. All schemes pertaining to Northeastern region are always given priority, more subsidies are provided to benefit the people. I urge the district administration to take more benefits from MNRE schemes,” Khuba said.
Khuba visited Nongstoin, the district headquarters of West Khasi Hills in Meghalaya and reviewed the implementation of the schemes and met the representatives of all the departments and district administration. The Union Minister also held a meeting with the locals and headmen here who informed him about the various challenges and Khuba assured that every possible step would be taken to address these challenges. “I reviewed the implementation of schemes of all the departments and district administration,” he said. While appreciating the proper implementation of the central Schemes, Khuba said that there are some concerns and that discussions were undertaken to tackle the challenges.
