During this, the work of adding and deleting names in the lists will be done in the Gram Sabha meeting. Deputy Commissioner Dr. Nipun Jindal told UNI on Thursday that he has issued instructions to all Block Development Officers regarding this. He has asked the Block Development Officers to ensure that the BPL list of each Gram Panchayat is reviewed in the Gram Sabha meeting to be held in the month of April. When asked that more than fifty percent people figuring in the BPL lists were not genuine Deputy Commissioner Kangra told UNI that instructions have been issued to the concerned BDOs and panchayat pradans that more deserving BPL people should be inducted in the lists. This will ensure transparency in the review of BPL list. Panchayat Secretary, Patwari and a local person nominated by BDO will be included in this committee. The Deputy Commissioner has urged the people to give correct information to the committee formed for the pre-survey and actively cooperate in making the BPL lists error-free. He said that many times people complain about the BPL list and for its diagnosis, it is necessary that people must participate in the Gram Sabha meeting and become part of the review process. He suggested that the panchayat pradans should go above the minor political vested interests and should come forward and help to resolve BPL list issue perfectly and with transparency in the national interest. He said that in the period before the Gram Sabha meeting, people can also give applications to the panchayat or block for addition or deletion of names in the BPL lists.
