Hyderabad / New Delhi, Sep 20 (Mayank Nigam) Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Dr Mansukh Mandaviya, emphasized that meditation offers stability, sustains us, and provides direction in life. Speaking as the chief guest at the three-day youth summit “Raising with Kindness,” organized by Heartfulness in collaboration with The Commonwealth, United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD), Government of Telangana, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), and Indian Council for Agricultural Research (ICAR) at Kanha Shanti Vanam on the outskirts of Hyderabad, Dr Mandaviya stated, “To be successful, you need only two things: commitment and dedication. Study the lives of successful individuals, learn from them, and channel your energies toward success.” He emphasized the importance of aligning the expectations of the government and youth to achieve a “Viksit Bharat” (Developed India).
He highlighted the government’s efforts to support research, development, startups, and international exposure under initiatives like ‘Make in India.’ Dr Mandaviya also mentioned the creation of the ‘My Bharat’ platform, which provides access to over 33 lakh Indian and international companies, and underscored that this year’s budget is 100 per cent youth-centric. Referring to the government’s goal of making India ‘Atma Nirbhar’ (self-reliant) through the Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme, he noted that the COVID-19 pandemic inspired the country to manufacture Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) domestically. Dr Mandaviya encouraged youth to channel their enthusiasm and knowledge toward the nation’s development and highlighted the government’s vision of positioning India among the top five countries in the global sports arena over the next 25 years. He mentioned the Keerti project, which empowers students to engage in sports with international exposure. World Champion P V Sindhu, who joined the event virtually, spoke about the transformative impact of meditation on her life.
“Meditation has been essential in maintaining clarity and mental strength during intense moments,” she said, thanking Daaji for his guidance and appreciating Dr Mandaviya for his efforts to boost sports performance in the country. Rev. Daaji, the Guide of Heartfulness and President of Shri Ram Chandra Mission, in his address, stressed the importance of kindness, saying, “Rising with Kindness are three important words. Life becomes glorious only if we are kind to each other and ourselves.” He highlighted how meditation cultivates a contemplative and peaceful mind, which leads to happiness and harmony. The second edition of the annual summit aimed at inspiring youth to adopt kindness and compassion attracted over 10,000 students from various fields of study across the country. Other dignitaries included Dr Hamdan Al Shaer – Deputy Chairman of Zayed International Foundation for the Environment, Sushil Ram, Commonwealth Secretariat, Dr R C Agrawal – Deputy Director General Education ICAR, Brijesh Dholakia, CEO Hari Krishna Export also joined the summit remotely.
