Bhubaneswar, Dec 3 (FN Representative) Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday termed the MIO Conclave 2022 as a “success” with an overall investment proposal worth Rs.10.5 lakh crores in a span of 3 days The investments, Patnaik said, will generate 10,37,701 employment potential across sectors from 741 companies. He said as many as 145 proposals were received from metals, ancillary and downstream sector, 102 from agriculture and food processing, 87 from logistics and infrastructure, 41 from tourism, and 37 from Information Technology.
At least 32 proposals were received from power, renewable and green energy, 28 from paper, wood and forest-based industries, 22 from healthcare and pharmaceuticals, 26 from textile, apparel and technical textiles, 14 from agri-business, 10 from aerospace and; defence, 10 from waste management, seven from cement, five from start-ups, and six from agri-marketing besides 12 from multiple other sectors along with 64 proposals from the general manufacturing sector. The Conclave witnessed registration from 18,785 delegates, including global leaders, industry captains, exhibitors, and participants from 11 countries such as Japan, Germany, Norway, Nepal, Bangladesh, Australia, Indonesia, Israel, China, Singapore and Thailand. During the three-day conclave 38 business sessions were conducted with more than 250 speakers with the involvement of 20 departments and signing of around 65 MoUs Ten inauguration and groundbreaking ceremonies were announced which included Ultratech Cement Ltd’s inauguration of a cement plant at Cuttack, Astral Limited’s inauguration of plastic pipes and fitting factory at Cuttack, Britannia Limited’s extension of the existing factory of biscuits, cakes and other bakery products at Khurda Food Park, Infunex Healthcare Private Limited’s production at Ramdaspur, Vedanta Aluminium Park at Jharsuguda, Jindal Stainless Steel Park, Wonderla Holidays Limited at Khurda, Danieli Corus Refractory Solutions Pvt Ltd at Khurda and Cotton World Textile apparel manufacturing unit in Khurda. These 10 projects have a total investment value of Rs. 4,595 lakhs crores Addressing the valedictory session on day 3 of the Conclave Patnaik said, “The Make in Odisha Conclave 22 has been a grand success.
The Conclave has generated investment intents of Rs. 10.5 Lakh crores with an employment potential for 10,37,701 people” “Let us all work hard to implement these investments on the ground and take Odisha to a new era of industry-led growth”,Patnaik said. Out of the total investment received at the end of MIO 2022 Conclave, metals, ancillary and downstream sector fetched Rs.5.50 lakhs crore, power, Rs.2.38 crore for renewable energy & green energy The logistics & infrastructure received Rs. 1.20 lakh crores, chemicals, petrochemicals & plastics got Rs.76,000 crores, manufacturing sector (Rs 21,000 crore), tourism and IT sectors received Rs 8,000 crores each, IT sector received Rs.8000 crores, agriculture & food processing got Rs.7200 crores, paper goods and forest-based products stood at Rs.5300 crores, cement Rs.5000 crores, healthcare & pharmaceuticals received Rs.4000 crores.
