SAS Nagar (Mohali), Sep 11 (Representative) The captains and leading personalities from the tourism sector on Monday gave the thumbs up to the unique initiative of the state government led by the Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann to organize the first of its kind Tourism Summit and Travel Mart. Addressing the gathering, renowned comedian Kapil Sharma lauded the path breaking initiatives being made by the Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann for the wellbeing of the state and its people. Kapil Sharma said that the summit is a laudable step by the state government to promote tourism in the state. He said that this initiative will go a long way in putting the state on the map of international tourism. He said that the step will also help in perpetuating the glorious legacy and history of the state amongst the coming generations. Profusely thanking the CM for the opportunity to attend the event, the ace comedian offered his services for progress and prosperity of the state. He also thanked the state government for making him a part of this prestigious event. Eminent filmmaker Bobby Bedi said that Punjab was the cradle of the entertainment industry as a number of ace filmmakes, actors and others were born here.
He said Punjab is gateway to some of the most beautiful destinations in the country adding that the beautiful geographical locations attract the filmmakers. Bedi said that this effort of the state government will go a long way in the tourism sector in the state. Well known comedian Sunil Pal said that he is blessed to be part of this campaign on this sacred land. He recalled the immense contribution of Punjabis in safeguarding the unity, integrity and sovereignty of the country. He said that the CM was the first leader of the state to start the reverse trend of bringing people from other countries by promoting tourism. MD ITC Sameer MC also expressed his gratitude for being invited to this prestigious event being organised to transform the fortune of the state. He said that Punjab is the state that has all the elements for a successful tourism destination. He complimented the Chief Minister for making strenuous efforts for making Punjab a global tourism destination. Vice President Ramoji Film city EV Rao said that the Punjab government has taken a wonderful initiative by organising this event. He said a high-powered delegation had visited the studio at Hyderabad which speaks volumes about the commitment of the Chief Minister to promote tourism. Rao said that along with honesty, bravery and hospitality the Punjabis are also known for their generosity across the globe.
