Kolor Champ 24 showcases Indian young artistic talent, inspiring creativity and innovation

Hyderabad, Oct 28 (Representative) Kolor Champ ’24, a grand showcase celebrating artistic talent from across India, took place on Sunday at SR Classic Convention, in Shamshabad. The event was inaugurated by Amit Krishn Gulati, an award-winning industrial designer, entrepreneur, and educator, who also serves as a visiting faculty member at the National Institute of Design (NID) Ahmedabad, School of Planning & Architecture (SPA) Delhi, and the Indian School of Public Policy (ISPP) Delhi. He is also the co-founder of Incubus, a pioneering architecture and design company in India. Addressing an audience of nearly 2,000 participants, their parents, and Global Art staff, Gulati emphasized that “there is no right or wrong in art—art is always right. “He underscored the importance of art in making learning enjoyable and accessible, citing examples like comics that simplify complex narratives. He also highlighted the significance of new-age skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, design thinking, and creativity, which he believes are crucial in a world increasingly dominated by technology and artificial intelligence. “These skills give you an edge,” Gulati said. “Rote and rule-based learning are becoming things of the past, and it’s creativity and innovation that will set you apart in a competitive world. The future of our country depends on human creativity—on IT professionals developing new products and technologists inventing new solutions that AI and machines cannot replicate.”

Gulati unveiled the competition sheet, officially commencing the 17th National Kolor Champ ’24 competition. Participants aged 5 to 15 were invited to create a piece based on the theme “One Dream of Mine I Wish Comes True.” The competition ranged from one hour and forty-five minutes to two hours and forty-five minutes, depending on the participants’ levels. Kolor Champ ’24, hosted in Hyderabad for the second time after a long gap, drew participants from seven Indian states, including cities like Hyderabad, Chennai, Bangalore, Coimbatore, Delhi, and Jaipur. Dinesh Victor, Founder & MD of SIP Academy India and the driving force behind Globalart in India, shared that the academy has trained 95,000 students since 2005, with 11,000 students currently enrolled across 145 centers in seven states. He described art as a medium of creative expression and encouraged children to think differently and make unique life choices. Ajin Thong, Co-Founder & COO of Globalart Worldwide from Malaysia, who also serves as the chief trainer of Globalart, attended the event. He encouraged participants to think and grow creatively, calling the event a platform for India’s next generation to showcase their innovative ideas and turn them into artistic masterpieces. Globalart children’s works have been featured in WWF campaigns for Save the Tiger and Climate Change, as well as displayed at the 2nd World Ministerial Conference in Bali, Indonesia, earning recognition and certificates of appreciation. The Kolor Champ event also holds a Limca Book of Records title.
