New Delhi, Feb 12 (FN Bureau) Parts of Central and East India are expected to witness light to moderate rainfall along with thunderstorms and lightning for the next three days, the India Meteorological Department said on Monday. According to IMD, “Isolated or scattered light to moderate rainfall accompanied by isolated thunderstorms and lightning activity is very likely over East Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Jharkhand during February 12–15. Parts of Vidarbha are expected to witness rainfall on February 12 and 13, while Bihar, West Bengal, and Sikkim will witness rainfall on February 13–15, the IMD said. “Light to moderate isolated rainfall is also likely over Odisha on February 12, 14, and 15, whereas over southwest Uttar Pradesh on the 13th and 14th and over southeast Uttar Pradesh during February 12–14,” it said.
The MeT department also predicted isolated hailstorms over East Madhya Pradesh and north Chhattisgarh on February 12, and East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Jharkhand on February 13. “Under the influence of western disturbances, light isolated rainfall and snowfall are very likely over Jammu-Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, on February 12, Uttarakhand on February 13, and isolated light rainfall in Punjab, Haryana, and West Rajasthan on February 12th,” the IMD said. As per IMD, the minimum temperature over Northwest India is likely to rise gradually by 2-4 degrees Celsius during the next 5 days and over East India by 2-3 degrees Celsius for the next two days. No significant change in minimum temperatures is likely over Central India during the next 5 days, the IMD said.
