IMD predicts heatwave over Northwest, Central India in next five days

New Delhi, May 11 (Representative) The India Meteorological Department on Wednesday predicted heatwave in Northwest and Central India over the next five days. In its weather bulletin, the agency said, “Heat wave conditions at isolated places very likely over East Rajasthan and West Madhya Pradesh during 11th to 15th May, 2022.” Over west Rajasthan, the IMD said, “severe heatwave conditions at isolated places very likely during the next two days.” “On Wednesday, west Rajasthan and Vidarbha witnessed 44 to 45-degree temperature and the same conditions likely to continue for the next 3-4 days,” it said.
Regarding the forecast of a heatwave, Punjab, Haryana, and Delhi, IMD said, the region might get an experience of heatwave from May 12 to 15, and the temperature likely to hover around 44 degree Celsius.

The maximum temperature in Delhi on Wednesday settled around 41.4 degrees Celsius, two degrees above normal, while the minimum temperature was recorded at 28 degrees, three degrees above normal. Over the cyclone, Asani, the IMD said, it is very likely to move north-northeastwards along Narsapur, Yanam, Kakinada, Tuni & Visakhapatnam and emerge into west-central Bay of Bengal off North Andhra Pradesh coasts by today night. ” It is likely to weaken further into a depression by 12th May morning” it added.
