New Delhi, Jan 27 (Representative) India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday predicted that dense to very dense fog and cold day to severe cold day conditions will prevail over Uttar Pradesh and Bihar for the next 2 days. These conditions will improve gradually thereafter, the weather department said. According to IMD, “Dense to very dense fog conditions are very likely to prevail over parts of East Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, West Uttar Pradesh and Bihar on January 27 and 28 and dense fog in isolated pockets over the region thereafter for subsequent 3 days.” “Dense fog conditions in isolated pockets very likely to prevail for a few hours in the morning over Uttarakhand, north Madhya Pradesh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Odisha, Assam, Meghalaya, Mizoram and Tripura on January 27 & 28 and over northwest Rajasthan on January 27,” the IMD said.
It further predicted that cold day to severe cold day conditions will continue to prevail in some parts of Bihar on January 27 & 28 and cold day conditions thereafter for the subsequent 3 days. Cold-day to severe cold-day conditions are very likely to continue in some parts of East Uttar Pradesh on the 27th and cold-day conditions in isolated pockets on the 28th January, the IMD said. Cold day conditions are very likely to continue in isolated pockets over north Madhya Pradesh on 27th January, it said. As per IMD, there is no significant change in minimum temperatures very likely over many parts of Central and East India and West India during the next 2 days and rise by 2-3°C thereafter for the subsequent 3 days. “No significant change in minimum temperatures very likely over many parts of Northwest India in next 24 hours and rise by 2-3°C thereafter for subsequent 3-4 days,” the IMD said. Cold wave conditions are very likely to prevail in isolated pockets of Punjab, Haryana, and East Uttar Pradesh for tonight, it added.
