Huge decline in tribal population in Jharkhand is a matter of concern: Nishikant Dubey

New Delhi, July 25 (FN Agency) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday expressed concern over the huge decline in the number of tribal population in Jharkhand and sought the immediate intervention of the government in this regard. The issue of decline in tribal population was raised by Lok Sabha MP from Godda constituency in Jharkhand Nishikant Dubey during the Zero Hour. He said that when Jharkhand state was formed, the number of tribals there was 36 percent but today it has come down to 26 percent, which is a matter of serious concern for everyone. Dubey said that the number of Bangladeshi infiltrators was increasing in the state and they were marrying the tribal women here. This was visible in the local elections.

A large number of Hindu women who participated in elections had Muslim husbands. The BJP MP said that due to infiltration in the state, the number of Muslims was increasing rapidly. He further said that the number of Muslims had increased by about 110 percent in 25 assembly constituencies. Dubey said that people come from Murshidabad and Malda in West Bengal and ill-treat Hindus and the government is silent. This is a very serious matter and the government should intervene. He demanded implementation of National Register of Citizens (NRC) in the state to stop infiltration.
