HP Governor calls for creating ecosystem for global scientific community

Hamirpur (HP), April 28 (FN Agency) HP Governor, Rajendra Vishanath Arlekar has stressed the need to create an ecosystem wherein we can have many other individuals who can make their mark in the global scientific community. The Government of India has introduced many schemes to promote a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship among the students at an early stage itself. He said this during a function of the Vigan Bharati organized at the local campus of the National Institute of technology Thursday. He said the organizations like VVM( Vigyan Bharati Manthan) are certainly helping in inculcating interest towards STEM Technologies, thus, creating a science movement throughout the country with Swadeshi spirit at heart of it. This kind of movement is in-line with the Government of India initiative of Atam Nirbhar Bharat, which an utmost necessity is keeping in view the dynamics of present world order. The Governor said,” The premier institutes like IITs, NITs etc. have been imparting technical education for many decades and are instrumental in producing quality engineers and technocrats who are contributing to the progress of the society in different capacities. These technical institutions are expected to not only play a vital role in the human resource development, but also to contribute towards enhancing industrial productivity.

We need to increase the manufacturing potential of our country in as many industrial avenues as possible in order to emerge as a world leader in the manufacturing sector”. He said,”The ongoing conflicts between the countries are forcing every nation to introspect about the alternatives and to avoid dependence on other nations for their needs. The technical institutes like NITs can relate to the objective of VIBHA that is to utilize the R&D personnel and Institutions towards development of Indigenous technologies and thereby to uphold the identity and dignity of Bharatiyata”. The Governor said, “Today’s India faces critical challenges like lack of indigenous technologies which is a hindrance in transformation of our nation from developing country to a developed one. If we look at past history, our country is known for its rich educational and cultural heritage. We are really proud of the remarkable contributions made by Indians towards development of science and technology”. Our scientists of the past like Arya Bhatta, Charaka, Sushruta, Bhaskara have contributed significantly in the domain of mathematics, astronomy, medicine etc. In last two centuries as well, individuals like C V Raman, Ramanujan, Hargovind Khurana, J C Bose, Homi Jahangir Bhabha, APJ Abdul Kalam have added to the rich legacy of past through their research contributions, thus, making our nation proud, the Governor emphatically added.

While extending warm greetings to all those present on the occasion of one day workshop on Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan-2022, he said the Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan was a benchmark initiative as a national program by Vigyan Bharati (VIBHA), in collaboration with Department of Science and Technology, Government of India and NCERT for popularizing science among school going children. He urged the young and bright minds to develop scientific temperament and aspire to contribute to the progress of the nation. Keeping in view the options available for livelihood in the present scenario, you should strive to become an entrepreneur, thus becoming a job provider rather than job seeker. The Governor said he had come to know that VVM has organized India’s Largest Science Talent Search Examination using Digital Devices.” I congratulate all the winners for their achievement and urge all the children to extract maximum benefit from all such events and programme”. He said, “Dear children, the key challenge before us is to be a global leader in science and technology. You all have to acquire and use education for solving local issues and problems while maintaining our swadeshi and rich culture intact”. Prof. Vir Singh Rangra, the RSS sanghchalak of Himachal Pradesh said the organizations like Vigyan Bharati were doing yeoman service to the nation and their contribution was laudable. He said lakhs of young students had benefited from these organizations and this work would continue in future also. The Governor on this occasion gave away prizes to winners of the competitions organized by the Vigyan Bharati.
