Pune, Nov 4 (FN Agency) These days the entire Medical system is taken over by Technology. Telemedicine is a huge tool for Rural India for Mass Screening. It’s a huge fascinating provision. The need of the hour is to have a holistic approach in the medicine after Covid Pandemic said, , Dr. Jitendra Singh Minister of State (Independent Charge), Ministry of Science and Technology & Earth Science here this evening. The Faculty of Health Sciences, Symbiosis International (Deemed University) organized a three-day National Conference on Research in Health and Biomedical Sciences from today at its campus at Lavale, Pune. The Conference is titled “SYMRESEARCH 2022”. Dr. Singh Minister was Invited as the “Chief Guest” for the Inauguration Ceremony. Speaking at the occasion Dr. Singh said, I have been a Researcher for several years. Research keeps you working.
The contributions made by Symbiosis in the education fraternity are immense. It is truly a versatile University. In India 70 percent of the population is below 40 years of age. But the number of pensioners in the country is 80 Lakhs whereas the serving employees are 55 Lakhs only Dr. Jitendra Singh added further. Talking about diseases Dr. Singh said, these days’ youngsters in the country are suffering from the diseases which usually the older people have. The age of getting diseases has gone down. Type 2 Diabetes is developing in the young generation.Even the eating habits in rural and urban areas have become similar so the diseases which the urban people have are also found in the rural population. This was not the case before, Dr. Singh added further.Dr. S. B. Mujumdar, Founder & President of Symbiosis and Chancellor Symbiosis International University in his speech mentioned that there are thousands of Universities and a large number of Research Institutions in our country.
The Private Institutions in the country are having many limitations in terms of Finances, Human Resources etc. Government should help Private Institutions in terms of funding to improve the Research at the University level.Science is about knowing and technology is about doing. When science and technology come together then the country prospers. Education and Health sectors both can take the nation forward, Dr. Mujumdar added further. Dr. Rajiv Yeravdekar, Provost, Faculty of Health Sciences, Symbiosis International (Deemed University) gave Welcome Address at the function. Dr. Vidya Yeravdekar, Principal Director of Symbiosis and Pro-Chancellor, Symbiosis International University and Dr, Rajani Gupte, Vice- Chancellor, of Symbiosis International University were the other distinguished dignitaries present for the function.
