New Delhi, April 25 (FN Agency) Delhi continues to reel under severe heatwave conditions, as the maximum temperature on Monday is likely to hover around 41 degrees Celsius, as per India Meteorological Department, with no rain for past several weeks. The minimum temperature for the day was 22.7 degrees, while the relative humidity at 8.30 am was 40 per cent. “As the day progresses, the sky will become partly cloudy with the possibility of development of thunder lightning” IMD said.
The MeT predicted the maximum temperature may increase by three to five degrees in most parts of northwest India during the next few days till Thursday. “The mercury is likely to touch the 44-degree mark in Delhi by April 28,” it said on Sunday. The IMD data showed till Friday the maximum temperature in the national capital could range from 41 to to 44 degrees Celsius. The city has recorded heatwave on eight days in April, the maximum since 11 such days witnessed in the month of 2010.
