Ranchi, Sep 6 (FN Agency) Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Monday said that strengthening the basic amenities across Jharkhand is a priority for the state government. Speaking after inaugurating a 132/33 KV grid substation in Meral (Bhagodih) and laying the foundation stone for construction of 132/33 KV grid substations in Nagar Untari ( Bhawnathpur) and Chattarpur (Palamu) he said that the Palamu division has been grappling with water and power crisis which has impacted the homes and the people of the area. He said that his government has accorded special focus on the area and is trying to improve the basic infrastructure.
He said that it is the responsibility of the government to provide quality power in rural areas as part of which the grid substation in Bhagodih has been inaugurated which will help people of Makri, Pandaria, Buka etc get rid of low voltage problem and apart from that the homes, the industries and other institutions will be benefited. The Chief Minister said that the water irrigation project was on in Garhwa district and apart from solving the issue of power the government is also trying to solve the water problem of the area and once the water irrigation project is completed facilities for drinking water and irrigation will improve in the area. The Chief Minister said that apart from the many ambitious schemes the government is also working to complete other projects related to basic infrastructure.
Adding further he said that keeping into account the demand of power in future he said that grid substation is being set up in Nagar Untari and Chattarpur and their construction will be completed in 24 months. He said that in the grid substation to be constructed in Chattarpur gas-insulated switchgear technology is being used which will help to reduce problems in power transmission and people in far-flung areas will get access to better power. Drinking water Minister Mithlesh Thakur was present in the function in Garhwa while in the function held in Ranchi apart from the Chief Minister, Chief Secretary Sukhdeo Singh, Principal Secretary Power Avinash Kumar and others were present.
