Give relief to farmers, common people from inflation: IAC chief

New Delhi, Jun 17 (Agency) President of India Against Corruption, Hemant Patil, on Saturday made an emotional appeal to the leaders of the ruling party to give relief to the farmers and common people from inflation. In a press release here, he said that it has been a year since the Eknath Shinde-Devendra Fadnavis alliance government came to power, but it has not lived up to expectations of the common people who were seeking relief from this government, he said. Similarly, despite announcement of the ‘Maha Samman Nidhi’ scheme for agriculture by the government in the state budget, the same has not been implemented as yet, he noted.

Talking further about cultivators, he said that farmers were frustrated for not getting guaranteed prices for their crops while on other, the government of another state was coming to Maharashtra and buying their produce at higher prices. In such a case, the possibility of farmers losing their faith in the state government cannot be ruled out, he added and appealed the government to take immediate steps to give guaranteed prices for the crops on priority. Moreover, at a time when Fadnavis and BJP leaders have been hurt due to advertisements made by Shinde’s supporters, Patil has appealed both Shinde-Fadnavis to trust each other and manage the affairs of the common people.
