Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh passes away at 92

New Delhi, Dec 26 (Agency) Former Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and veteran Congress leader passed away on Thursday who was Prime Minister from 2004 to 2014, retired from the Rajya Sabha in April. According to AIIMS sources, his condition was critical he was being treated by a team of multiple doctors. The reason for his hospitalisation was not immediately known.

Manmohan Singh was India’s only Sikh Prime Minister who made his entry into the Rajya Sabha in 1991, not long after becoming the Finance Minister under the PV Narasimha Rao government in June that year. He was a representation of Assam for five terms in the Upper House, before making a move to Rajasthan in 2019. His last words in Parliament were a strong criticism against demonetisation, describing it as a “sanctioned and lawful raid.”
