Effective law & order must to attract investments in AP: CM

Vijayawada, Nov 21 (Representative) Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday told the Andhra Pradesh Assembly that investments can be made in the state only if effective law and order is maintained and the youth will get jobs only if there are investments in the state. “Development of any country or state is possible only if there is effective law and order and the people too can live peacefully. There will be no development if people live under fear. If industries are set up, employment can be generated and for industries to be established, investments should be made. Strong measures and stringent laws are necessary for providing a peaceful atmosphere,” he said. He made an announcement on the floor of the House that the police setup will be strengthened and the 6,100 vacant posts in the department will be filled soon only with a view to maintaining strong law and order. Claiming that the previous ruling dispensation did not conduct even a single review meeting on the abuse of ganja, the Chief Minister said that at that time if ganja was seized in any part of the country, its roots were in Andhra Pradesh. When the TDP staged protests against this, the party office was attacked, he alleged. Regretting that the YSRCP chief Jagan Mohan Reddy is defending all those who are posting objectionable comments on his own sister and mother, Chandrababu Naidu said that he really felt distressed on seeing the obscene comments posted against the family members of the Deputy Chief Minister, Pawan Kalyan. Also, these elements resorted to character assassination of the Dalit woman and Home Minister, Vangalapudi Anitha, the Chief Minister said.

The leaders in the previous ruling dispensation resorted to organised crime on social media with a Paytm batch, he remarked. To completely check this trend, a national forensic science campus will be established in the state, Chandrababu declared. The Chief Minister told the House that the previous government had brought in the Land Titling Act only to encourage land mafia. Terming this Act as a conspiracy and against the provisions of the Constitution, the Chief Minister claimed that taking advantage of this law, the previous government raised curtains for cheating and even took out the powers of the judicial officers. After noticing all these issues, the Chief Minister said that he revoked the law immediately after assuming power. Chandrababu also made it clear that anyone who resorts to any kind of irregularities with regard to land or if one illegally occupies land such persons will be sent to jail. Informing the House that a public prosecutor will also be appointed, the Chief Minister said that the Preventive Detention (PD) Act will be further strengthened. “If anyone indulges in selling spurious seeds, irregularities in sand mining or rice mafia such persons will attract the provision of PD Act, he added. The Chief Minister expressed that Andhra Pradesh should become the address for knowledge economy, maintenance of law and order. For realising Swarnadhara Pradesh too law and order is equally important, Chandrababu Naidu asserted.
