EAM meets incoming US NSA Michael Waltz, discusses bilateral relationship, global issues

Washington/New Delhi, Dec 28 (FN Bureau) External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, who is in the US, met with incoming US National Security Advisor Michael Waltz and discussed the bilateral relationship and current global issues with him. Separately, EAM Jaishankar also concluded a two-day meeting with the Indian consul generals in the US.In a post on his meeting with Waltz, the EAM said: “Delighted to meet Rep. @michaelgwaltz this evening. “Enjoyed a wide-ranging conversation on our bilateral partnership as well as current global issues. Look forward to working with him.”

Waltz, a House Representative from Florida, is co-chair of the House India caucus, highlighting his support for the US-India strategic partnership. On his meeting with the Indian consul generals, EAM voiced confidence from the discussions held that the growth of the India-US partnership will be accelerated. Former Foreign Secretary and current Indian Ambassador to the US Vinay Mohan Kwatra is seen in the picture as well as current FS Vikram Misri. “Concluded a very useful two day conference of team @IndianEmbassyUS and our Consuls General in Washington DC today. “Confident from the deliberations that the continuous growth of the India-US partnership will be accelerated.” EAM’s six-day visit to the US and his meetings with officials comes ahead of the new administration under Donald Trump taking over from January 20.
