New Delhi, Aug 19 (Agency) External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Monday welcomed Nepalese Foreign Minister Arzu Rana Deuba, who is on a five-day official visit to India. The two sides discussed the multifaceted bilateral cooperation including in energy, trade, connectivity and infrastructure development. In a post on X, the EAM noted that Nepal will be exporting close to 1,000 MW of electricity to India, in a new milestone. “Pleased to welcome FM @Arzuranadeuba of Nepal on her first official visit abroad.
“Discussed the multifaceted India-Nepal cooperation including in energy, trade, connectivity and infrastructure development. “Glad to note that Nepal will be exporting close to 1000 MW of electricity to India, a new milestone. “Our Neighbourhood First policy and unique people-to-people & cultural connect propels our relationship forward.” According to Nepali websites, Minister Rana is also scheduled to call on Prime Minister Narendra Modi this evening. According to her personal secretariat, Minister Rana will also undergo health treatment during her visit to India.
