New Delhi, April 25 (FN Representative) The national capital recorded a single-day rise of 1,011 new cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours while one more patient died of the viral illness, said the health bulletin released by the state government on Monday. The infection rate from the total samples tested in the last 24 hours accounted stood at 6.42 per cent. The city conducted 15,742 tests in the last 24 hours whereas 817 previous patients recuperated from the illness during the past 24 hours.
The government data showed the bed occupancy rising to 121 which is only 1.21 per cent of the total 10,390 beds available in the coronavirus-dedicated hospitals. Delhi and adjoining areas in neighbouring states of Uttar Pradesh (UP) and Haryana have witnessed a rise in daily Covid-19 cases over the last few days. The national capital has seen an uptick in cases in the last few days after recording a steady decline for over two months. However, the Delhi Government stated last week that it is keeping a watchful eye on the situation and maintained that there is no need to panic.
