Delhi CM Atishi urges youth to become job creators

New Delhi, Oct 6 (FN Agency) Emphasising the need for youth to become job creators, Delhi Chief Minister Atishi on Friday said that India will surely become the number one country in the world when university students graduate as entrepreneurs rather than job seekers. Speaking at the convocation ceremony of Netaji Subhas University of Technology, Atishi said, “Our youth should become job creators, not job seekers, to solve the problem of unemployment in the country.” “When our university students graduate as entrepreneurs rather than job seekers, India will surely become the number one country in the world,” She said.

Atishi also announced that the Business Blasters programme will be launched in all Delhi government universities within a month, emphasising that the programme, which has already helped students in Delhi government schools become entrepreneurs and create jobs, will now provide university students the opportunity to follow the same path. “While India faces several challenges, unemployment is the issue that affects youth the most,” Atishi highlighted urging the universities to focus more on how many jobs their students are creating and how many employment opportunities they are generating. “Many young people think, No one in my family has done business, so how will I?

If I don’t take up a job, how will I manage household expenses? But students from Delhi government schools have answered these questions,” she said. The Chief Minister shared success stories of young entrepreneurs, highlighting that these children come from ordinary, underprivileged families but have been able to establish successful businesses within 1-2 years when given the opportunity. They are now not only supporting their families but also creating jobs for others. “These stories demonstrate that when we provide students with opportunities and they take some initiative, we can make significant progress and contribute to the country’s development,” she added.
