Conditions favourable for cessation of Northeast monsoon rains

Amaravati (Andhra Pradesh), Jan 13 (Representative) Conditions are becoming favourable for cessation of Northeast Monsoon Rains in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal, Kerala & Mahe. Conditions are favourable for cessation of Northeast monsoon rains in Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam, Rayalaseema and South Interior Karnataka around Monday, Meteorological Centre said on Saturday. In a daily weather report here, it said that lower Tropospheric North-Easterly winds prevail over North Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam. Lower Tropospheric North-Westerly/Easterly winds prevail over South Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema.

Shallow fog is likely to occur at isolated places in Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam and Rayalaseema on January 14 and 15. Dry weather is likely to prevail in Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam and Rayalaseema during the next seven days. Northeast monsoon has been weak in Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam and Rayalaseema. The lowest minimum temperature of 17 degrees Celsius was recorded at Arogyavaram in Rayalaseema on the intervening night of Friday and today, the report added.
