CM announces 35,000 govt jobs, urges police to combat drug abuse

Hyderabad, Sep 11 (Representative) Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy announced that the government will create 35,000 more jobs by the end of the year.He noted that over 30,000 jobs had already been filled within two months of the formation of the Congress-led government. Speaking at the passing-out parade of 547 sub-inspectors at the Telangana Police Academy on Wednesday, the Chief Minister praised the dedication of the police recruits and expressed confidence in their ability to combat drug abuse, cybercrime, and other social challenges. “I heartily congratulate the SIs who have completed their training. This moment is a sweet memory for both you and me,” said CM Reddy. He also acknowledged the dissatisfaction that had prevailed among students, activists, and the public after the formation of Telangana. Calling on the youth to follow the right path and fulfill their parents’ aspirations, CM Reddy expressed concern over the growing issue of drug addiction and the indiscriminate supply of drugs in the state. He urged the newly recruited police officers to take a firm stance against drug abuse, declaring that Telangana should be free of drug and ganja addiction.The Chief Minister emphasised that the aspirations of the people of Telangana have not been fulfilled over the past nine years, reassuring the youth that they should have faith in their government’s performance. He also highlighted the government’s efforts to attract investments to Telangana and support traditional professions.

CM Reddy proudly noted that Rs 18,000 crore had been deposited into farmers’ accounts, a landmark achievement for the state. Additionally, CM Reddy announced plans to establish a police residential school on 50 acres, modelled after military schools. He also detailed the formation of the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Assets Monitoring and Protection Agency (HYDRA) to safeguard ponds and tanks from illegal encroachments. The Chief Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to demolishing illegal structures, urging those involved to let go of aggression and leave respectfully. He clarified that there is no regularization scheme for Full Tank Level (FTL), Nala, and buffer zones, emphasising that it is the responsibility of the police to enforce orders in these areas. Vigilance and enforcement duties were assigned to Kothakota to ensure adherence to laws. CM Reddy stressed the importance of respectful community engagement by the police, stating, “The police should raise their hands in service and bow down to the community. “Out of the 547 sub-inspectors who completed their training, 145 were women and 402 were men. Of these, 401 are Civil SIs. The group included 472 graduates and 75 postgraduates, with 248 SIs holding B.Tech degrees. Female SI Palli Bagyasree served as the parade commander. The majority of the trainees, 283, were aged between 26 and 30, while 182 were under 25 years old.
