New Delhi, Nov 19 (Agency) The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested two senior officials of Ratnakar Bank in connection with an alleged bribery case of Rs 30 lakh, the agency said on Friday. The accused included Regional Head of Agro Division in Ratnakar Bank, Ahmedabad and Recovery Head in Ratnakar Bank, Pune, said CBI Spokesperson RC Joshi. A case was registered against these persons on the allegations of demanding undue advantage of Rs one crore for issuing a Valuation Certificate.
The complainant, along with his 12 family members, allegedly applied for Agri Term Loan under the Development of Commercial Horticulture through Production and Post Harvest Management of Horticulture Scheme of National Horticulture Board, said Joshi. Due to non-availability of subsidy, all the agri-term loan of the complainant and his family members became NPA and for availing subsidy, a Valuation Certificate for mortgaged properties was required and the bribe was allegedly settled to Rs 30 lakh on negotiation, said CBI. CBI laid a trap and caught the regional head of the bank, Ahmedabad for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 30 lakh. Later on, the recovery head of the bank, Pune was also caught. Both were produced before the court on Friday, said the agency. Searches were conducted at five locations, including at Ahmedabad, Pune and Delhi in the office and residential premises of the accused.
