Andhra’s Bhimavaram town set to welcome PM

Bhimavaram (Andhra Pradesh), July 3 (Representative) The stage is set for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the state on Monday to unveil a 30-feet tall bronze statue of legendary freedom fighter Alluri Sitarama Raju in West Godavari district in Andhra Pradesh. Police officials said that 5,000 police personnel including para-military and central security personnel have reached Bhimavaram town. The bomb squad checked premises while the SPG officials are overseeing the proceedings. The Prime Minister will participate in the 125th birth anniversary celebrations of Alluri Sitarama Raju at Pedaamiram and also address a huge public meeting on the occasion. Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, Janasena president K Pawan Kalyan, actor K Chirnajeevi, Union ministers, MLAs and MPs would be participating in the event. Modi will be arriving at Gannavaram airport near Vijayawada by flight and from there he will come to Bhimavaram by helicopter. Meanwhile, the police has imposed several restrictions on vehicular traffic in the town and surrounding areas. Private vehicles coming from Kalla would not be allowed towards Bhimavaram town.

As part of precautionary measures, all shops in Bhimavaram town would remain closed on Monday until the programme is concluded. YSRCP district president and Achanta MLA Cherukuvada Sriranganatha Raju and Khatriyaseva samiti have mobilised 2000 buses and 3000 cars to bring people from various places for the event. Parking places have been arranged for heavy vehicles and buses opposite Annayaraju Colony vacant plots, Sri Rama Ice Cold Storage, Opposite Bhimas Hotel, West Berry School site, Radhakrishna Convention Center, Florinza Layout Peda Amiram, Cable Srinu Cement Road Layout, Hyderabad DTCP Layout, NTR Opposite the statue open sites, SRKR college playground, next to Vegesna Foundation compound wall for car parking, open space next to Sri Rama Ice Cold Storage, Cancer Hospital, Chinna Amiram Anjaneya Swamy Temple back side, Vigyan Bharati School, B Square opposite Petrol Bunk.
