73-ft high mast national flag inaugurated in Arunachal’s Bumla

Itanagar, Dec 30 (FN Agency) Amidst patriotic fervor, a monumental 73-feet high mast national flag was inaugurated on Friday at Bumla in Arunachal Pradesh’s Tawang district, bordering China, which is located at an altitude of 15,200 feet above mean sea level (MSL). The colossal tricolor was hoisted by Tawang MLA Tsering Tashi jointly with CEO, Flag Foundation of India, Maj Gen (Retd) Ashim Kohli, in the presence of the Indian Army’s Tawang Brigade Commander Brig Vipul Singh Rajput, officials said. Expressing his delight at the high mast flag installation at Bumla, Chief Minister Pema Khandu, sharing photos of the event, wrote in a social media post: “Glory is where the flag of the nation fly high. The 73-feet-tall, high-mast Tricolour on the 15200 ft Bumla is now a pride of the country.” The ceremony was witnessed by the officials of the district administration, troops of the Indian Army, ITBP, & SSB, along with NCC cadets of 2 Arunachal Pradesh NCC Battalion.

The patriotic fervor of the hoisting of the national flag was further increased by the presence of civilian tourists sloganeering ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ and ‘Vande Mataram’. The event was energized by the Rashtriya Dhwaj salute given by the ceremonial guard of the Indian Army, coupled with the national anthem played by the pipe band. In his address, MLA Tsering Tashi appreciated the noble cause of installation of the high mast national flag at Bumla, which will be a source of inspiration for unity, integrity, and national strength. The lawmaker motivated the border guard troops to keep doing their selfless service towards the nation. He also praised the civil-military bonhomie in Tawang, which has led to continued development in fields of infrastructure, medicine, education, and social wellbeing. He expressed thankfulness to the Flag Foundation of India for having provided the high mast tricolor and to the Indian Army for facilitating the installation of the national flag.
