New Delhi, Apr 27 (Agency) The 70 percent of India’s population is in rural areas, so it is necessary to develop new technologies in rural areas said internationally famed eminent scientist and Padma Vibhushan Dr. Raghunath Mashelkar. Adverse circumstances or not, students can go ahead and lead the country if they have determination, perseverance, willingness to work hard and respect for Guru said Vice-Chancellor and Scientist Dr. Pratik Mungekar. Under ISRO’s Space Tutor Program at Heritage International School at Mulshi near Pune, Kalam Mashelkar Space and Innovation Center has been established on the initiative of Vice Chancellor and scientist Dr. Pratik Mungekar and the centre was recently inaugurated by Padma Vibhushan Dr. Raghunath Mashelkar. This space lab at Mulshi is the second in India and the first in Maharashtra and it will host various programs on new and emerging technologies like space lab rocket science, satellite, applications drones, robotics, virtual reality, 3D printing, aircrafts etc.

This first space lab has been established by Vyomika Space Academy and Govind Yadav, founder of Space Academy, has done it from the perspective of ISRO’s Space Tutor Program. In the lab, Scale models of ISRO space launch vehicles like SLV 3, ASLV, PSLV, GSLV D1, GSLV MK III, SSLV along with Chandrayaan 1, Mangalyaan 1 satellite models have been installed for study. Two telescopes have been installed in the laboratory, through which the students will get an opportunity to study various phenomena happening in space. Apart from this, robot kits, light following kits, bluetooth control robots, quadcopter drones etc. can be seen in the laboratory. The students of the school gave in-depth information about the various technologies in the laboratory in front of the audience as well as gave detailed information about the various events happening in space.

Dr. Mashelkar had a heartwarming conversation with the children about the creation of many dignitaries of India. In the evening, remote piloting of small radio controlled aircraft like Pushpak Yana, Garuda Vimana, Gagan Vimana and drones developed by Vyomika Space Academy were demonstrated in the presence of Senior Scientist (ISRO) T. N. Suresh Kumar. School Founder Krishnaji Bhilare, Director Kunal Bhilare, Secretary Sangeeta Bhilare, Administrative Manager of the School, Yashawini Bhilare, Govind Yadav, Dr. Pratik Mungekar, Principal Renu Patil, Dr. PK Rajput, Retired Senior Assistant Commissioner of Police Ravindra Rasal, Education Officer K D Bhujbal and students and teachers of the school were present, said a release here today.
