Ayodhya (UP), Jan 13 (Agency) The construction of Lord Ram’s temple in Ayodhya is going on at a fast pace under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath as according to the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, more than 60 percent of the temple construction work has been completed. The speed of the construction work can be gauged from the fact that the idol of Lord Rama in the child form will be consecrated in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple next year in January 2024 on the occasion of Makar Sankranti. This means that next year on Makar Sankranti devotees will be able to see Ram Lala in the world’s most divine and grand Ram temple. General Secretary of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirtha Kshetra Trust Champat Rai on Friday said that the grand temple of Lord Shri Ram would be ready before its fixed deadline. “The construction of the temple is going on in full swing. The construction work of the first floor of the temple will be completed by October this year,” he said. He said that Pran Pratishtha in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple will be completed till Makar Sankranti next year.
He said that according to the preparations made so far it has been planned to perform Pran Pratishtha between January 1 and January 14. The general secretary of the trust said that about 62 percent of the construction work of the temple has been completed so far. “The construction work of the temple is to be done in three phases. Work of the first phase will be completed in December this year, which also includes the sanctum sanctorum,” he said. Rai said that the idol of Lord Shri Ram, which will be consecrated in the sanctum sanctorum, will be in the child form 5 and 7 years. He said that the eminent sculptors of the country have already started brainstorming about what the fingers, face and eyes of the idol should look like. He said that the idol of Lord Shri Ram will be 8 feet 5 inch tall and it will take 5 to 6 months to complete it. He said that the form of the idol of god will be on the lines of Neelambuj Shyaamal Komal Aangam (the body like a lotus – dark, charming and soft). Rai said that a stone which will be of the sky colour will be selected for the idol. He said scholars of sculpture from Maharashtra and Orissa, including Padma Shri awardee sculptors Sudarshan Sahu, Vasudev Kamat of Orissa and senior sculptor Ramaiah Wadekar of Karnataka, have assured that such a stone is available with them.
