Chennai, May 28 (Agency) The 27.5 hour Countdown for launch of the first of the second generation 2,232 kg Navigation Satellite NVS-01 using its heavy rocket Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle– GSLV-F12–tomorrow, began at at the spaceport of Sriharikota today. ISRO sources said the countdown began at 7.42 a.m. today at the SDSC SHAR Range.
In a tweet, ISRO said “GSLV-F12/NVS-01 Mission: The countdown leading to the launch has commenced.” The three-stage rocket carrying the satellite will lift off from the Second Launch Pad at 1042 hours on Monday from the SHAR Range. For the first time, an indigenous atomic clock will be flown in NVS-01.
