121 per cent productivity in Lok Sabha

New Delhi, Feb 11 (Agency) Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla said on Friday that the Lok Sabha’s productivity during the first half of the Budget session stood at 121 percent and thanked MPs for running the House smoothly. The Speaker informed the Lok Sabha that 12 hours were allocated to debates on the Motion of Thanks to the President’s address, but the discussions were held for over 15 hours in which 60 MPs participated and another 60 MPs laid their speeches on the Table of the House.

On the General Budget, 12 hours were allocated for debate, but it went on for 15 hours 33 minutes. 81 MPs participated while 63 MPs laid their speeches on the Table. “All honorable members extended their positive cooperation in running the House and there was extensive discussion and debates on all the subjects. It strengthens our democracy and our parliamentary system,” he said.
