■ Encouraging Entrepreneurship Among Students:
Delhi Govt launches Business Blaster program at all its schools
New Delhi, Sep 7 (Bureau) Deputy Chief Minister Mannish Sisodia launched the Business Blaster program on Tuesday to encourage entrepreneurship among the students studying in Delhi-government run schools. The program will be implemented at all Delhi public schools under the “Entrepreneurship Curriculum” and would aim to develop young entrepreneurs at the school level, he said. “We are proud to launch this business blaster program, which will be the cornerstone of the country’s development,” he said. Under the program, a seed money of Rs 2,000 will be offered to the students of class 11 and 12 to start a business. The Delhi government said the objective of the program is to eliminate the fear of “starting something new” among the children.
“The objective of this project is to prepare the children to invest, eliminate the fear of starting a business from them and earn profit. Most importantly, even if they do not make a profit, they should learn to face their failure,” Sisodia said. Sisodia who is also the education minister said that the program will prevent children from chasing work, but work will chase these children. “India is a country of youth but it is a country of educated yet unemployed. Our initiative will change this picture and make India a country of educated and capable youth. That day is not far when every child coming out of Delhi’s schools will not ask for a job but will create a job. And even if he does a job, he will not be in line for any job, but the job will run after him. I am sure that the children studying in Delhi schools will prove this picture true with their confidence,” he added.
The ambitious project of the Kejriwal government was launched a couple of years ago with the introduction of Entrepreneurship Mindset Curriculum (EMC) in Delhi government schools. The government claims that the pilot project of the Business Blasters program received immense success. “One of the group earned 24,000 from the 2000 rupees seed money provided by the government,” Sisodia said. The Deputy CM said that in the coming days, an EMC carnival will be organised with 100 top projects from Business Blasters project under EMC at zonal and district level. “It will be rated by renowned successful entrepreneurs and universities. The children included in the top 10 projects will be directly admitted to the BBA course in NSUT and DTU,” he informed. The kejriwal government said that EMC has been designed in such a way that every student can apply their knowledge in real life. “It includes a micro-research project. Under this, children ask questions to 5 entrepreneurs and 5 working people related to their profession so that the children can understand the advantages and disadvantages of each profession,” Sisodia added. The minister further added that if implemented properly, the program can transform India from a developing to a developed nation.
