On Saturday, more than two hundred fishing trawlers returned to Nagendra wholesale market in Nagendra wholesale market with hilsa in Namkhana of South 24 Parganas. The amount of hilsa was two thousand tons. Hilsa size was 500 to 800 grams. Yesterday, this hilsa was sold in the wholesale market at the rate of 530 rupees per kg. Fish weighing 500 to 800 grams was sold at the price of 700 to 900 in the retail market of Antali Market. A lot of hilsa fish market can be seen on the surface. Basically, in the last four days, a lot of hilsa has been caught in the nets of the fishermen of Kakdwip, Namkhana, Fraserganj, Sagar, Bakkhali, Patharpratima, Diamond Harbor areas of Sundarban area of South 24 Parganas.

Kakdwip Fishermen Development Association Secretary Bijan Maiti said that 11,000 fishing trawlers are engaged in catching hilsa in this state.
