Moscow, Sep 7 (FN Agency) Telegram has updated its moderation policy for private chats following the detention of the platform’s founder, Pavel Durov, in France, according to the messenger’s website. The previous stance on illegal content in Telegram stated that all chats were private for participants and that the platform would not handle any related requests, according to a cached version of the FAQ page. However, the updated page now mentions that all Telegram apps have “report” buttons that allow users to flag illegal content for moderators. It also provides an email address for sending complaints to moderators. Previous policy that chats in Telegram are private for their participants and the administration does not process requests related to them now remains only in the copyright clause.
