South Asian Climate Change Journalist Forum formed

Dhaka, Nov 14 (Bureau) Ashish President, Biplob Executive President and Samrat General Secretary nominated in South Asian Climate Change Journalist Forum. Today Nov 13,2023 (SACCJF) has been formed in the world climate conference held in Sharm Al Sheikh, Egypt. Environment and climate journalists from South Asian countries initiated this organization for creating awareness and preparation of climate changing impact on South Asian inhabitants. Ashis Gupta, Delhi Bureau Chief of the daily “Asomiya Protidin”, India, has been elected as the founder President of this newly formed journalist organization in a meeting held at the “Cop 27 Conference Media Center”. Karamot Ullah Biplob, Current Affairs Editor, ATN Bangla, Bangladesh, has become the founder Executive President. Asaduzzaman Samrat, the city editor of Bangladesh “Amader Notun Shomoy” newspaper, has been elected as the first General Secretary of this debut committee of SACCJF. Journalist Bhishma Raj Ojha of Nepal’s “Rashtriya Sangam Sangdha” (RSS) has been appointed as Assistant General Secretary.

Also, in this first committee of South Asian Climate Change Journalists Forum (SACCJF), Masum billah of Indian “The Daily Jugshankha” is as Treasurer, Rafiqul Islam Sabuj (The Daily Somoyer Alo, Bangladesh, India’s Amitabh Sinha (The Indian Express, India) and Sunit kumar Bhuyan (Protidin Times, India), Pakistan’s Imran Choudhry (Daily Bhulekha, Pakistan) and Rabnawaz Chowdhury (Daily Awaza, Pakistan), Nepal’s Shree Ram Subedi (Nepal republic Media, Nepal) and Pragati Dhakal (Daily Karobar, Nepal), Sri Lanka’s Tharushi Warishinge (Ceylon Today, Srilanka), and Bhutan’s Rinjin Wangchuk (ANN) ) are as Executive Members of this committee. The selected journalist leaders decided and vowed to present the demands and expectations of South Asian countries to face the climate crisis globally through this journalist organization platform that will work as “whistle blower” for the policy makers of the world and this region. It was also decided that the headquarters of the organization will be in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh.
