SL schools closed for week due to fuel crisis

Colombo, July 3 (Agency) Schools in Sri Lanka will be closed next week due to severe shortage of fuel in the island nation, media reports said on Sunday. The Education Ministry has decided to declare next week (July 4 to July 8) as a holiday week for all government and state-approved private schools owing to the current fuel crisis, Daily Mirror reported.

The loses of school time during next week will be covered in the next school vacation term. The island nation also limited Parliament sessions to three days this week due to the ongoing energy crisis. The South-Asian nation is currently facing its worst-ever economic and financial crisis.
