New York, Sep 17 (FN Bureau) Law enforcement officers in New York have taken US rapper Sean Combs, known as Diddy, into custody, the TMZ portal reported, citing sources.Sources told the publication that Homeland Security Investigations officers stormed the hotel where Diddy was staying on Monday evening and detained him. Sources also told the publication that the rapper had been taken to the local FBI office in Manhattan.The portal later learned from a source in law enforcement that the artist was planned to be detained on Tuesday, for some reason it was decided to do this the day before. The rapper’s lawyer, Mark Agnifilo, told the portal that his client was innocent.Rolling Stone reported that Combs had been arrested after a jury indicted him on unspecified charges.
Combs was previously ordered to pay $100 million to a man who claimed he sexually assaulted him, but was himself an abuser and was serving a prison term.Combs topped Forbes’ list of the highest-paid musicians in 2017. In 2022, the magazine estimated his fortune at $1 billion, making him the second-richest hip-hop artist after Jay-Z. The rapper has been repeatedly sued for sexual assault. In February, it became known that American singer Cassandra Ventura had filed a sexual assault lawsuit against Sean Combs. Later, the rapper’s son, 26-year-old Christian Combs, also found himself at the center of harassment allegations.
