Islamabad, March 28 (FN Agency) The Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) led by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz and Opposition Leader in Punjab Assembly Hamza Shehbaz addressed the “Inflation March” the joint opposition’s public gathering against the PTI-led government in Islamabad on Monday night, Express Tribune reported. Addressing the gathering Marayam said, “Today we have gathered here under the leadership of [JUI-F] Maulana Fazlur Rehman to bid farewell to Imran Khan,” adding that the premier has “lost the confidence” of not only parliamentarians but members of his own party and nation as well.
Taking a dig at the Imran Khan’s decision to nominate PML-Q leader Pervaiz Elahi for the post of Punjab chief minister, Maryam said, “After seeing his government’s ship sinking he pushed Usman Buzdar into the water”. She further mocked Imran Khan for claiming that there is a foreign conspiracy to topple his government. “International conspirators must have informed Imran Khan about their plot through black magic or delivered a letter through pigeon” she said. Maryam also claimed in her speech that soon they will bring to light a “shocking scandal” involving PM Imran. PML-N leader Hamza Shehbaz, while addressing the rally, sounded the alarm of the spillover effect of the present political uncertainty on any potential economic crisis in the country. Hamza said Pakistan’s economy is already “on the ventilator” and warned that if economic situation further deteriorated “then God forbids this nuclear-armed country can suffer huge losses”, while accusing Imran Khan of encouraging his spokespersons to use foul language against his opponents.
