Colombo, Aug 29 (Agency) Indian National Security Advisor Ajit Doval is visiting Colombo and is tipped to meet several candidates for the Sri Lankan Presidential elections, including President Ranil Wickremesinghe and Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) candidate Sajith Premadasa, a media report said. Doval also met former Sri Lankan High Commissioner to India Milinda Moragoda who presented him with a copy of the ‘Pathfinder Indo-Lanka Physical Connectivity Report’, Daily Mirror reported.
Milinda Moragoda, in a post on X said: “This morning, I met with Indian National Security Advisor Ajit Doval who is on a visit from Delhi and presented him with a copy of the @pathfindersl Study Group Report on India-Sri Lanka Physical Connectivity. #lka” The Study Group report provides a comprehensive blueprint for physical connectivity in the sectors of road, rail, electricity and petroleum. The ultimate goal of this initiative is to increase Sri Lanka’s annual economic growth rate from 3 to 6% through economic integration between the two countries. NSA Doval’s visit takes place three weeks before Sri Lanka’s Presidential elections scheduled for September 21.
