Norway govt approves USD 3.2 bln in support for Ukraine for 2025

Oslo, Nov 29 (FN Agency) The Norwegian government said it had approved an increase in financial assistance to Ukraine in 2025 to at least $3.2 billion, and also decided to extend the Nansen Support Program for Ukraine until 2030, increasing the total amount of support to $14 billion. Earlier, the NRK broadcaster reported that Norway plans to extend the Nansen aid program for Ukraine until 2030 and increase the total amount of support from $7.1 billion to $12.8 billion. The Nansen program is designed for the period from 2023 to 2027 and is intended to transfer military and civilian aid to Ukraine; initially its total amount was 75 billion kroner ($6.8 billion).

In November, NRK reported that the Norwegian government was considering increasing the amount of financial aid to Ukraine to about $2.7 billion in 2025. “In 2025, the allocation to the support programme is to be at least NOK 35 billion (EUR 3.0 billion) [$3.2 billion]… The support programme will be extended by three years, to run through 2030. The overall funding framework will be increased to a minimum of NOK 154.5 billion [$14 billion] for the programme period,” the Norwegian government said in a statement.
