Minsk court sentences Belsat reporters to two years in prison

Minsk, Feb 18 (Bureau) A court in Minsk sentenced two reporters of Polish Belsat broadcaster to two years of imprisonment each for violating public order, the Belarusian Association of Journalists said on Thursday. Reporters Daria Chultsova and Ekaterina Andreeva, who work for the broadcaster that is not accredited in Belarus, were detained in November 2020 after their live broadcast of protesters dispersal by the Belarusian police.

They were accused of grossly violating public order. “Reporters Daria Chultsova and Ekaterina Andreeva are sentenced to two years of imprisonment. The decision was made by … judge Natalia Buguk,” the Belarusian Association of Journalists wrote on Telegram.
