Dhaka, Nov 18 (Bureau) The Bangladesh government has appointed Foreign Secretary Masud Bin Momen on contractual basis for another two years. The Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification in this regard on Wednesday.The notification said, ‘Masud bin Momen, Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, BCS (Foreign Affairs) cadre officer, has been appointed contractually for the post of Senior Secretary of the said Ministry for a period of two years from the date of joining on December 6, 2022, subject to the suspension of his retirement leave and related benefits. ‘Masud Bin Momen was serving as Foreign Secretary since December 31, 2019.
Before that, he served as Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Bangladesh to the United Nations. After returning to the country, he was the secretary (bilateral) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.After serving as Acting Foreign Secretary for a few hours, he was left in that position.This foreign cadre officer was the ambassador of Bangladesh in Japan and Italy. After completing his studies in economics at Dhaka University, Masud also studied international relations in the United States. During his long career, he served in various positions in New Delhi, Islamabad and Kathmandu missions.
