Jerusalem, Oct 10 (Bureau) Israel’s largest hospital on Sunday announced it had signed collaboration agreements with two of Bahrain’s major hospitals. Israel’s Sheba Medical Center signed agreements with Salmaniya Medical Complex in the Bahraini capital of Manama, and King Hamad University Hospital (KHUH) in the town of Busaiteen. The agreements include collaborations in the fields of medical staff training, knowledge sharing, joint research, technology, and innovation.
Yoel Hareven, head of the International Division and Resource Development at Sheba, said that the collaborations would include, among other things, medical treatment through Sheba’s remote medical system. Salman bin Ateyatalla Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, CEO of KHUH, said that the agreements will contribute to mutual support in the medical field and promoting research between the two countries. Israel and Bahrain signed a historic agreement to normalize diplomatic ties at the White House in September 2020.
