Paris, Aug 2 (FN Agency) The International Energy Agency (IEA) said on Friday it would hold an international energy security summit in the United Kingdom around April-June 2025 to address evolving energy-related challenges. “The IEA will convene an International Summit on the Future of Energy Security in the second quarter of 2025, hosted by the UK government in London, to assess the existing and future risks facing the global energy system and to prioritize the solutions and opportunities available for addressing them,” the statement read.
The forum will focus on evaluating “geopolitical, technological and economic factors affecting energy security at the national and international level” and provide an opportunity for global decision makers and key actors to review the trends that are reshaping global energy security. The Paris-based energy agency identified changes in energy accessibility, clean energy solutions, availability of resources for clean energy technologies and investment in green transit as some of the topics for discussion.
