Documentary on HK’s pro democracy protests screened at Cannes Film Festival

Paris, Jul 17(Agency) Cannes Film Festival has given a world premiere to Kiwi Chow’s “Revolution of Our Times”, a documentary chronicling Hong Kong’s 2019 pro-democracy protests. The screening is not likely to go down well with People’s Republic of China(PRC) as the documentary is a powerful tribute to the courage and resilience of Hong Kong residents battling for their freedom, and a scathing critique of mainland China’s threats to the city’s semi-autonomous status.

“Revolution of Our Times”, captures the turmoil that shook the former British colony between June and November 2019, starting with the attempts by the authorities’ to introduce an extradition bill with the PRC that seriously weakened the “one country-two systems” principle agreed upon by London and Beijing.
