Beijing, Sep 14 (FN Bureau) China will promote fruitful security cooperation within BRICS, Vice Foreign Minister Chen Xiaodong said at the 11th Xiangshan Security Forum in Beijing.”China will promote cooperation within the framework of such mechanisms as the SCO [Shanghai Cooperation Organization], BRICS, China-Central Asia to complement each other and promote similar initiatives, and comprehensively respond to various challenges in the process of building a community with a shared future for the SCO, and help ensure that cooperation within Greater BRICS continues to bear fruit in the field of security,” Chen said.
He said China will also cooperate with Central Asian countries to build a friendly and peaceful community with a shared future in the region, far from conflicts.The Xiangshan Security Forum is being held in Beijing on September 12-14. The Russian delegation at the forum is led by Deputy Defense Minister Col. Gen. Alexander Fomin.BRICS consists of Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran and the United Arab Emirates.
