Blinken announces $300mln in law enforcement funding to Ukraine

Washington, Sep 7 (Agency) US Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced on Thursday that the United States would allocate $300 million in new funding to Ukraine’s law enforcement sector to support the department’s operation. “Visited @MVS_UA border guards to see how they continue to protect Ukraine’s territory and people. The United States remains united with Ukraine,” Blinken said on X (formerly known as Twitter). Blinken visited the Ukrainian capital on Wednesday and announced additional assistance to Ukraine totaling more than $1 billion, which includes $665 million in security assistance. The financial aid also includes an additional $175 million in presidential drawdown authority that will provide significant support for Ukraine’s air defenses and another $100 million in foreign military financing to support Kiev’s longer term military needs, Blinken said.
